Visiting Malacca Straits Mosque in Malacca City, Malaysia

I love exploring the amazing architecture of Malaysia and during my trip make an effort to visit major mosques in the area.

I visited Malacca in late 2018 and offered my Eid prayers at the mosque. The structure of the building borrows designs motifs from middle-eastern and Muslim architecture around the world. Located over the water in Malacca Straits, the mosque seems like floating on the water. The blue shades of the building blend in with the bluish-green water and give an amazing impression.

The location is quite windy and a terrace at the back of the mosque commands amazing ocean views. The Main Hall has a massive dome decorated with Quran Ayahs and designs.

The mosque is easily accessible from the Melaka town by bus or driving. The area surrounding the mosque is seeing plenty of modern development of shopping malls and high-end residential apartments.
